Motivating People and Retaining Top Talent
Motivating people is not an easy thing to do. Individuals that have learned how to motivate people are well ahead of the curve. Motivation plays an integral part of our every day lives. It provides the foundation for our attitudes and drives our actions. Typically, the first person anyone learns how to motivate is their self. You can't expect to be good at motivating others until you are a master at motivating yourself.
My name is Chris Evers and the purpose of my website isn't to sell you a book or a CD on motivation. Instead, my goal is to have everyone that enters this site to have a better understanding of what motivation is and to come away with a few practical ideas they can use in the field. I discuss several different aspects of motivation and explore ways leaders and managers can build a motivating workplace to achieve employee need satisfaction and goal attainment.
Motivating employees is critical to the success of any company. Subordinates expect it, but managers are often perplexed by all of the different theories they come across. Organizations are rarely able to achieve their goals without competent leadership. Leaders who are able to motivate are able to constantly revitalize their most important resources, their people. In order for this to happen theory must be turned into an efficient, practical and workable plan viable for implementation.
I believe that if a company's culture puts its employees first, then everything else will fall into place. If you treat your employees right then they will in turn treat your customers the way they should be treated. As leaders in today's globally competitive marketplace, it is our repsonsibility to make the lives of those whom we influence better each time we have the chance to interact with them.
